Make Your Own Natural & Better Massage Oil

So you've made the decision to learn how to make your own massage oil. There are two basic ways to go about this, but we'll begin with the easiest and continue with the most difficult. Remember, the two options are easy to use, and hard to make.

First-time home-maker? Let's begin with buying a few essential oils. You'll also need to buy a container and get it filled. The instructions for using these can be found at your nearest pharmacy.

Although essential oils are a great starting point, I'd recommend starting with massaging oils. These are less expensive, as well as less difficult to make. They aren't essential oils by any means, but they do offer a more natural alternative to what you can buy in the store.

Now here is where the importance of the ingredients becomes so important. The oils you purchase in the store are filled with petroleum byproducts such as paraffin wax and lanolin. Because they're commonly used in these types of products, they also contain chemicals that are bad for your skin and can lead to some serious skin issues.

Buy only oils that are made from natural ingredients. When you read the label, it should have an ingredient called "virgin", or "all natural". You can find all-natural ingredients that are far less harsh than most of the products sold in stores.

After you've purchased your oils, you'll need to get them ready to massage into the oil. You need to get them infused, which means that they must first be heated. Most massaging oils come with a burner that you put the hot oil into and then turn on.

If you do not own a burner, you can just drop the oil into the burner. I strongly recommend that you place the oil in a sealed container that will have an airtight seal when heated. Once you get the oil ready, use it to massage into the oil.

When you start to make your own massage oil, keep in mind that some products are better than others. Most of the time, products sold in the store are not as good as they claim to be. So if you can't find a product that works well with your aromatherapy oil, make sure that you make it yourself.
